"Leadership development as a transitional journey"
This paper describes transitional leadership development programs as the beginning of a journey, and propose that for this type of program, an integrated collaborative approach to evaluation is logical and appropriate. The authors describe the continuous leadership development evaluation process for one program. On-going evaluation includes base line entry interviews, 360° testing, action planning and experimentation, and most significantly, live case study presentations and feedback loops, which are embedded into the rhythm of the work and lives of the participants who attend our program. Post-program retest study has validated, albeit on a small scale, that change does occur in a direction predicted, as a result of the program.
