In the increasingly networked 21st century it’s even more important for leaders to have a high level of self-awareness, to clearly understand why they act as they do, and how their behaviour affects and is perceived by others. By knowing themselves, successful executives are better able to keep a clear vision of where their organisation is heading, have greater success in communicating this vision to others, and are more able to make the decisions that transform vision into reality.
KDVI has recently launched the Global Executive Leadership Mirror (GELM®), a new validated 360° feedback leadership development tool through which executives can take a closer, more rounded look at their own personal leadership behaviour.
Designed by Manfred Kets de Vries especially for global executives, the GELM® is an upgraded version of the GELI (2005). The questionnaire helps leaders evaluate their performance in dimensions vital to leadership success. It takes into account the leadership developments of the past decade, and includes new features such as a task and relationship index, life stress and well-being resource matrix and perceived performance index to add further insights into a leader’s developmental needs.
The GELM® leader dimensions include:
Like the GELI, the GELM® has undergone rigorous testing and validation. Scores are normalised against peers, the number of observers have been increased from 10 to 15, and superior scores can now be separated out (as an option). We have also redesigned all our feedback reports to be more sleek and easy to use. The tool is now available in English, Russian, German and French.

More broadly, learn about the objectives of each of our 5 instruments and gain confidence on how to use them together in a systemic way.
